Review of The Bedford Incident (1965) by Matthew L — 15 Jun 2012
A fairly standard cold war thriller with the benefit of being one of the earliest films in the (sub)genre, elevated by performances from Widmark and Poitier yes there is more than a hint of Moby Dick about this film but if your going to steal, steal from the best.
Beyond the performances what also raises the bar with this film is the truly shocking conclusion and for once one that isn't signposted.
