Review of The Bad Seed (1956) by Leesha O — 02 Mar 2005
The Bad Seed starring Nancy Kelly and Patty McCormack..
This is a fun little thriller that I caught on Turner Classic Movies the other night. (/plug for TCM) The story was interesting and for those who enjoy history, it was dated, but in a good way. It dealt with the whole 'nature vs. nurture' debate regarding behavior of children. The film was well-acted (Eileen Heckhart's drunk performance of Hortense Daigle is a hoot) and well-written. .
This film is heads and shoulders above The Good Son, which I think is yet another poor attempt to 'update' classic films..
