Review of The Bad Seed (1956) by Linda M — 27 Jan 2013
Before "Orphan" or "The Good Son," there was "The Bad Seed". The original evil-murderous child film is still the best, even if it is rather stagy given is theater origins.
Directed by Mervyn LeRoy, it's a smart little psychological thriller that's actually pretty hard to predict how it's going to end. There's also an excellent Alex North score that helps build tension.
And parents, make sure you learn a lesson from this film and do not enable your child's bad behavior!
