Review of The Babadook (2014) by Ryan V — 26 Sep 2015
A fantastic psychological terror. The movie avoids cheap jump scares and gore, instead settling for sustained dread and atmosphere. The film's boogeyman is every bit as unsettling as any movie monster that made its way into our collective memories.
And a lot of credit has to be given to our two main characters. The movie thrives on their authentic performances as a damaged parent and troubled child.
