I understand the "symbolism" in the movie however is poorly executed, the movie fails at being a "horror" movie and even worse as a psychological one, the kid is super annoying, the mother is not that bad however both are not likeable characters, I couldn't care less for them.

Worse part, it was necessary that the dog die? Well NO! ... movie is not scary, I have no idea why have such a good rating, I want to believe that people actually hate it BUT decide to "trick" people into belive that they actually like it and that way get revenge at wasting their time.

.. only possible explanation ever !
