Review of The Andromeda Strain (1971) by Dan G — 20 Nov 2007
This is a slow-burner, no flashy special FX and nearly nobody gets shot or blown up on camera. Instead you get an engaging tale of the scientists who are assigned the investigation of a strange occurance.
The plot is methodical and well paced, giving the impression of long hard investigative efforts, while never seeming too slow. As the tension mounts and the clues are unravelled you discover the true nature of the situation and of the potential danger involved.
