A superb 'Hard' Sci-Fi movie that is resolutely un-dumbed down, 'The Andromeda Strain' has a great atmosphere and intriguing storyline. The ending is desultory but other than that this is a classic 70's SF with memorable art design and graphics by Douglas Trumbull. Steven Soderbegh's pharma/virus thrillers are in some ways descendants of this but this leaves them in the (green) dust.
Now, pass me the Sterno pardner. I'm startin' to breathe slow...
