Review of The Andromeda Strain (1971) by Dylan W — 08 Nov 2009
You have to keep in mind that this film was made in 1970 (released in '71) which predates CGI and digital recording. All things considered, Robert Wise and his crew did a phenomenal job with the resources available.
Still, time has not been kind to Andromeda's special effects, rendering them a little 'nostalgic'. On the other hand, Michael Crichton's story is completely timeless and as intriguing as it was 40 years ago.
A minor classic in the genre of 70's science fiction.
