Review of The Andromeda Strain (1971) by Guido S — 28 Dec 2013
In the old style of sci-fi, a group of scientist are brought to a super-secure secret lab to study the virus that killed a whole town. They see it grow and think they are going to all die, but then they learn it multiplies through energy and can't survive in oxygen so it is essentially harmless unless they are looking at it.
It has been a while since I've read the book, but it seemed to follow somewhat closely to the book. It is a little slow, the middle is a bit of a chore to get through, but otherwise, this is a pretty interesting take on virus study.
