Review of The Andromeda Strain (1971) by Terri H — 27 Dec 2008
If anyone had told me 10 years ago that Michael Crichton will write a book that will be translated into a heartfelt masterpiece I would have told em to stop drinking the purple stuff, but that's the case we have here. One of the master book writers of our time has written a book that not only goes against his regular soil your pants scary but is actually tug at the heart wonderful. *sorry for the cheap pun* this movie just makes you happy to be a human being period.
There's so many sides to this one little movie that it's just so intriguing to watch. every sec, line, and sweeping camera shot just commands greatness. How people don't like it is beyond me, can't imagine how far your head has to be up your bum to actually hate this movie. it's a true gem from start to finish, the acting is memorable, and the lines eternal.
Most movies come and go just like that. They make a bunch of money and then quickly fades away into mediocrity. They are instantly forgettable and has no staying power what so ever. Some movies on the other hand stays with you long after you watch it. It's always stays fresh and original no matter how many times you watch it and doesn't fade away like most of popular culture."The Andromeda Strain" is one of those movies, and just makes you wish that Hollywood would make more movies like that true masterpiece.
