Review of The Age of Innocence (1993) by Daniel S — 25 Nov 2008
Another gem from Scorsese that makes you question that values you base your life off of. At the time the movie is set, the guidelines of how to live your life were a lot more extreme and enforced, but some aspects do still apply today.
How many times do we often truly say what we truly feel, instead of just what others want to hear? Though I suppose our whole world rests on that notion, and if everyone knew what everyone else was exactly thinking, society as we know it would turn upside down.
Back to the movie, Day-Lewis underplays it which works to his behalf, the production design is amazing and the music is sad. A must see.
