Review of The Age of Innocence (1993) by Tiberio S — 17 Aug 2017
An apt title for a film that chronicles both the intriguing beauty, and judgmental entrapment, of an age long gone and buried. I really love the end of this film; it always gives me a heavy heart when we jump ahead in films to aged characters, experiencing the sadness of time gone by, memories unforgotten, feeling suppressed.
That we see Archer (Day-Lewis) in his age, but the object of his affection Olenska (Pfeiffer) remains absent, is such a perfect touch to this sad lost love affair.
