Review of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) by Brian K — 15 Feb 2012
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is set in a European city under siege by an invading army of Turks. Their only salvation lies in the hands of Baron Munchausen (John Neville), a fanciful aristocrat whose famed exploits seem utterly nonsensical to the rational world.
Director Terry Gilliam employs a calvacade of visual wonder and endless fancy to this sly, witty triumph of imagination over despair. Easily one of my all-time favorite movies.
