Review of Taxi Driver (1976) by Jurgenramnball — 08 Oct 2016
I expected more, to be honest. Scorcese is an amazing director and makes good shots, DeNiro and Foster are great, as well as the rest of the cast. The cinematography is dark and dirty, which makes sense with the crime concept.
It's in means of narrative that it has its problems, the romance is unbearable, with chessy dialogues and unnecessary events. Travis also has a mental conflict that isn't accurately developed according to his attitudes, mostly in the ending.
Edit: Themain theme gets repetitive after the first hour. It is a good movie, but it's bad that we have it as a masterpiece.
