Review of Taken (2004) by Brandon W — 11 Apr 2015
Taken is a great film that revolutionize Liam Neeson as an action hero. While the plot is just as simple as it can get: daughter gets kidnapped, so father comes to save her, but the way it's handled, is really done in a stylish and smart way.
Liam Neeson is fantastic in this and is just intimidating as usual. The writing is actually really good, and I get to know a lot about Bryan Mills. Maggie Grace is decent for what she's got, and the action scenes are great.
It gets a bit tense at times, and it shows that the main character does have a lot of skill and knows his way through it. Taken is really nothing short of excellence, but it's a fun movie that really should've been a stand alone movie.
