Review of Survive Style 5+ (2004) by Tom T — 24 Aug 2009
When I first saw Survive Style 5+ I had no idea what to expect from it. I knew it was Japanese and I knew it was called Survive Style 5+ but other that I had no idea what I was about to see. And I think that is the best way to see it.
Hard to explain the film falls into a number of genre, what starts out as a quite dark horror opening becomes a quite funny, dramatic, happy, tense, sad, surprising, thoughtful.
And stylish; one of the most unique and original films I've seen in a long time.
If you want a different/great/Japanese film check this one out. Also keep an eye out for Vinnie Jones.
