"Watching The Detectives" isn't a horrible film, Cillian Murphy was perfect for the character of Neil but Lucy Liu was a horrendous miscast for the character of Violet. The plot was alright, it was a little something different and the film runs at a pretty nice pace at 91 minutes.
It's really no surprise that no theatrical distributor wanted to pick this film up after it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival because it really wasn't worthy of one. The film also lacks some very important key essentials that make a good film.
The film just missed out on being a good film, Cillian Murphy did a great job in this film but Lucy Liu spoiled everything with her odd role as the character Violet. This film is definately worth checking out for fans of Murphy, it's a little different from his past roles, but he still did a really good job.
