Review of Super Fly (1972) by Chelsea H — 03 Dec 2006
Superfly is very lucky to come @ the beginning of the blaxploitation era because it is funky fresh and well..superfly w/ it's gritty urban setting, awesome Curtis Mayfield soundtrack and supercool fashion that I wish would come back in vogue (even though I could never pull it off).
Hampered a bit by a superlow budget (& the fact I don't nessacarly need to see Ron O'Neal for an extended period in a soapy bath) but a couple of pulled punches here & there hardly distroy the experience.
..one of the best of the genere along w/ Shaft and Coffy.
