Review of Sunrise (1985) by Alison C — 18 Mar 2012
Beautiful film! Maybe its just cause I'm a romantic but I was very moved by this. The scenes are long but so loaded with emotion. I'm still in awe of the scene at the diner. So powerful! There's themes of modernization vs.
traditionalism. I think the movie could me shorter. For awhile it pretty goofy. The drunk pig is cute though. But movies of that age kinda did stuff like that. It is a little horrible how he treats the woman from the city, even if she deserved it.
I think that was a thing of that time though so I forgive it. Love love love this movie.
