Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Hattie G — 18 Dec 2007
This movie is my all time favorite Dustin Hoffman film I've seen yet. It's hard to think of anybody else who could portray the main character as well as he does. Also, Sam Peckinpah is a masterful director.
This film actually made me cry, and it was (in my opinion) much harder to watch than "A Clockwork Orange", as the man doesn't really sugarcoat any of his scenes of violence and instead amplifies them with visual implication that makes a person feel worse about what's happening.
Amazing-- simply amazing. A movie I will not forget.
