Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Richard S — 27 Feb 2016
Late in the movie we get a 1 line description of the movie. "It's like, five minutes before a launch, everyone goes to a bar and gets drunk and tells me what they really think.".
It's kind of true. To the point that it almost feels more like a play than a film, because it is a bit more detached from reality. Obviously, there are way more intricacies than this description affords, but those intricacies can get lost among themselves. So while the acting is superb, Sorkin's script is nuanced if not outright self-indulgent. It is a fascinating watch, somewhere between the drunken rant and the symphonic performance it wants you to believe it is.
