Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Andy S — 02 Aug 2018
I don't know if Steve Jobs was really like this, but man, he would be one annoying individual to be around. Almost like he's not human. I almost don't want to believe that he was such a cold and alienating person.
The acting is top notch. Fassbender, Winslet, and the guy who plays Andy knocked stout of the park. But unfortunately, the material and topic can come off as boring. This is not a movie about Apple or about the I Mac. It is about Steve and all his downfalls and uprises through his career as well as his relationships with the people in his life. This movie is basically like The Social Network.
Basically the moral the story is, don't alienate and distance yourself from your children because then you will really regret it later. That discussion between Jobs and Wozniak.
I love how the Steve's past memories replay in his head right before or after having meaningful conversations with important people in his life. This is why Danny Boyle is so fucking great. He is very creative in the way he approaches things when filming.
It's tough coming from a broken family. The movie was great I just wish it didn't throw you right in the middle of everything. It felt kind of unnatural, kind of like joining two people's conversations late and not knowing what they were talking about before you got there. But the movie did really surprise with it's emotional depth and it's characters. Wonderful movie!
