Review of The Messenger (2009) by Alysia V — 01 Jun 2010
I've never seen a military movie that's taken on this subject matter & it was powerful to watch. You don't think about what a difficult & emotional job the Army's Casualty Notification Service has but, man, after watching this movie I know that I would not want to take on that task.
Both Woody Harrelson & Ben Foster are top notch in this film & I come to love them both as actors more all the time. Powerful performances & this film was filled with so many heart wrenching scenes.
Everytime they has to notify another family member of a casualty, I found myself heartbroken & in tears. This movie had a very real feel to it & it was most certainly impacting.
