Review of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) by President P — 02 Jun 2013
In away its good, but also bad. Star Trek III - The Search for Spock is basically the realization that Spock was a popular character and fans wanted him back, and you get this film. The film feels like it has no reason to be a movie, rather a multiple part episode on television.
The cast is as usual very great and the most interesting part of the film. The story is hit or miss and for me, I really didn't care for it. The writing is average and the direction, which just happens to be Spock himself, tried his hardest but can't really bring this film to life.
Star Trek III tried its hardest to be likeable, but for me just couldn't be impressive, or live up to Wrath of Khan. The title says it all, they look for Spock and of course find him; skip this and move on to the next film.
