Review of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) by Liamexe — 12 Oct 2022
Star Trek has always been about the amazing exploits of the Starship Enterprise, but as this movie rather explicitly points out, I believe it's also about two unlikely friends who are there for each other no matter the threat.
Like Episode 7 did for Luke Skywalker, The Search for Spock does the same for Spock. Kirk's guilt over Spock's death hangs over him the entire movie, so the search for Spock is really a search for his soul.
Throughout the entire movie, we are impatiently awaiting the inevitable, but fortunately, the remaining plot is engaging enough to keep us engaged long enough for the disclosures to come to light.
