Review of Stand by Me (1986) by Kuri A — 13 May 2014
Stand by Me is a tale of adolescence that few writers and even fewer directors have managed to tell with such excellence. Stephen King is the unlikely author of the story on which it is based, and like his other opus, The Shawshank Redemption, King infuses the story with characters that tug at the heart, and gives us a story as memorable as childhood itself.
Stand By Me is a timeless classic that merits multiple views, it is childhood nostalgia given cinematic form.
