Review of Stake Land (2010) by John P — 02 Jun 2011
A very depressing and disturbing movie. This movie is similar to 'Zombieland' with the narration from a young boy and a character named Mister who kicks ass. This movie doesn't really have a straight forward plot.
A lot of situations are brought up in this movie and are not clarified or resolved. This movie lacks character development since there is barely any dialogue and little to none talking between the characters but somehow I managed to care for some of them.
I do not like how characters are introduced to the movie and are gone in the next 5 seconds and there is no explanation on what happened to one of the main characters at the end of the movie. The acting is just terrible from some of the characters.
What saved this movie was the feel of it which was depressing and the feel of devastation. The director did a great job in making you feel the that way as well. There are too many unfinished scenes and the ending was horrible.
