Review of Southland Tales (2007) by Jani M — 12 Jan 2009
Southland tales has more flaws then it has points of beauty. There are points that are entertaing, but as a whole the film wanders in circles as the plot becomes less and less interesting and confusing as the story carries on. There are too many minor characters struggling for camera time, the movie ends with a feeling that there should be at least 20 more minutes of plot to rap of the factors that make no sense, to a movie that is already 30 minutes too long.
I liked the film style, there was a neat tracking shot, there was fun scene at the beginning with The Rocks character being setup.
