Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Bradley J — 30 May 2018

Solo tries hard, but ultimately suffers from an episodic, SparkNotes version of an origin story. It packs in chaotically filmed fights, tons of characters who come and go, and a plot that is choppy and nonsensical.

This would all be more easily forgiven if the film was enjoyable, but shockingly this flurry of action makes things more tedious and monotonous than it should be. Throw in some shaky performances and the film is disappointing if not really a disaster, considering what could've happened under its rough production issues.
