Review of Solitary Man (2009) by Brian B — 09 Sep 2010
I was expecting the sort of dark comedy associated with these topics, but it actually transcended it and made for quite a touching drama. Douglas is terrific and better than he's been in a long time.
It's his movie, his role and the rest of the actors are just sort of there to fill it out, but they each play their role well. As the movie moved along, I found myself gravitating towards it more and more.
It hits each note perfectly, as the writing is terrific.
