Review of Soldier's Girl (2003) by Dani F — 18 Nov 2009
Thought provoking and ultimately harsh story of a US soldier who falls for local singer who used to be a man.
Done with taste and subtlety its not as exploitive as say The Crying Game. Instead it explores human sexuality and homophobia in way that tugs at our emotional responses.
It also tackles the fragile issue of homosexuality & bullying in the army.
Based on a true story this really is a good one to watch but, avoid if easily offended.
