Review of Snow Cake (2006) by Derek B — 14 Jan 2009
Unusual film, restrained and modest, no masterpiece but Alan Rickman is very good. I didn't find it very emotionally engaging though. It reminded me a little of Atom Egoyan's The Sweet Hereafter, maybe its just the road crash/snow thing, but Snow Cake is not in the same league.
Even so, this is worth a watch.
