Review of Snow Cake (2006) by M.e. K — 23 Aug 2016
Since Alan Rickman passed, I wanted to see something soulful with him in it,, and this was perfect.
Sigourney Weaver gives an impressive performance as an autistic woman.
This is a heart-strings tugging slightly slow drama, which encourages tolerance of those such as the autistic who perceive and react differently than what we might expect.
Overall this is a story of loss and healing and new beginnnings. While there is focus on grief and death, there is also the beginnings of a sweet little romance between Alex played by Rickman and neighbor Maggie played by Carrie-Ann Moss. From goodbyes, come hellos.
