Review of Slaughterhouse-Five (1972) by Anne C — 05 Aug 2007
I read the Vonnegut book a couple years before the George Roy Hill adaptation. It is a very good read.
Then the movie was in the works and here comes Valerie Perrine with a full Playboy spread, and well, I could not fail to see this rendition. God, I was in love with Montana Wildhack (Perrine). Billy Pilgram (Michale Sacks) did a good job of playing the young and aging Billy as he bounces around in time.
If you have never read the book, you may need to watch this movie more than once to really get the full effect of what is going on as it jumps around in Billy's time tripping.
Great book, good movie. I recommend both.
