Review of Silent Movie (1976) by Rebecca H — 04 Aug 2008
A nicely choreographed silent film with a fun idea at the heart, a director wants to make a silent movie in the modern age. However, since all it amounts to is a bunch of slapstick and visual gags, it will only ever be as enjoyable as you can find this humour.
I personally enjoyed the amusing juxtaposition of the captions, but the rest was only ever chucklesome at best, rather than outrageously hilarious, and it lost a lot to a second viewing. Amusing, but nothing else.
