Review of Sharkwater (2006) by Jeremy B — 15 Apr 2009
What at first seems like a conventional documentary on sharks soon becomes a well-reasoned argument for protection of a misunderstood and endangered species. Some of the photography is breathtaking, and there is an exposé of the nefarious and mostly illegal Asian trade in shark fins.
Technically the editing is defective, but the message is still powerful. Director Rob Stewart is a handsome as well as passionate young man, still in his twenties.
