Review of Shame (1968) by Harry C — 23 Mar 2006
10\10.
Unlike his other films, Shame is a more straightforward movie about the incredible atrocities of war and how they effect humans both physically and psychologically, the latter of which is both facinating and disturbing. Bergman here presents how the war effects a young couple which ends up being the most enthralling, personal look at war I've seen since The Pianist. Incredible performances from both leads, particularly Ullmann who never dissapoints.
