Review of Shakespeare in Love (1998) by Petros T — 27 Dec 2010
This is a simplistic film that thinks that some witty lines, few funny moments, two attractive leads, a pestered romance and a sequence/ clumsy mixture of sex and "Romeo And Juliette" are enough to make a movie immortal.
For this ain't immortal. It is forgettable. Most of the dialogues are tragically trying to resemble Shakespeare's writing style but are mostly pompous lines disguised as poetry while the cast is fine but by no means exceptional.
A film typical of Hollywood dressed in period costumes.
