Review of Shakespeare in Love (1998) by Immanuel C — 24 Aug 2017
Overall I quite liked watching this movie. At times I found the storyline a bit cheesy, but I suppose that's to be expected of any romantic comedy. Still, it's a strong film and Gwyneth Paltrow, Geoffrey Rush, Colin Firth, Ben Affleck, and Judi Dench all gave stellar performances.
The ending with Shakespeare writing the beginning to Twelfth Night and the music to me at that part are perfect! I know a lot of people hate that Saving Private Ryan lost to Shakespeare in Love for Best Picture at the Oscars, but in my mind I can see why the Academy gave the award to it.
