Review of sex, lies, and videotape (1989) by Magesh R — 05 May 2010
For an independent film that marked Soderbergh's directorial debut, it certainly appears anything but amateurish. He is able to introduce to viewers the different factors about the subject of sexual relationships, such as desire, anxieity, betrayal, and voyeurism, through multi-dimensional characters.
Strong performances come from the four leads, especially from Andie MacDowell and James Spader, who both play characters who encounter epiphanies as the story progresses.
