Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Sergio R — 21 May 2013
A brave tale of humanism, honor, wisdom and compassion made by one of the greatest maestros of cinema, Akira Kurosawa. Seven Samurai is not just a film, is a innovative piece of art that influenced all the future cinema, with a original narrative structure, style, and the one if not the greatest cinematography of all time.
The director ambitions and detail is balanced by the memorable characters and great performances with epic battles, but never forgetting the importance of the intelligence and to create moral challenges in the audience. A magnificient and sublime film that at 206 minutes is ever entertaining, funny and clever.
