Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Jim D — 22 Feb 2014
Ok...I recognize this as a classic, and I do appreciate its quality. I have to say however, I had trouble getting into it, or being the least bit interested in the characters. Maybe it was the quality of the translation subtitles, maybe it was the length of the movie, maybe it was the style of acting (highly exaggerated movements and vocalizations).
I'm not sure...4 stars because I am not only looking at how much I like it, but on its objective quality.
