Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Kevin K — 17 Sep 2014
Pretty average and unnecessarily long. And despite its lengthiness, this movie did a poor job providing opportunities any emotion attachment to the multitude of characters and attempts to do so were meager and weak.
The comical character's facial expressions and actions were very over exaggerated and bizarre but I've noticed that with other Asian films so I suppose it's a cultural feature. With so many high ratings I was thought I had selected the wrong the title but, unfortunately, I had not.
To me, the multitudes of elevated ratings for a movie make widespread brainwashing of the viewers a more plausible explanation.
