Review of Secrets & Lies (1996) by Ray S — 04 May 2010
A very British melodrama of a black yuppie woman finding out her real mom is a working-class white lady. Slow-moving but gets better later. This movie has perhaps the most painfully awkward scene (the birthday party) I've seen in quite awhile.
The acting, esp. the mother's, is always superb.
