Review of Se7en (1995) by Deanomite — 29 Dec 2019
I think what makes it great is the naive center, like an island surrounded by an ocean of depravity that is represented by Brad Pitt who wants to save the world, and Gwyneth Paltrow, who loves her husband, and especially by Morgan Freeman who plays a brilliant relic from a time where education meant salvation.
Even the studio, who didn't want a head in a box, all sweet naivete, blind in a sick world. I especially love how Morgan Freeman controls his own emotions in any scenario. This move really takes me back.
David Fincher really is a genius of forensic movies. Gone Girl, Zodiac, Seven. I am happy he didn't quit after Alien3.
