Review of Scent of a Woman (1992) by Jay L — 31 Jul 2012
"Join them for a weekend thats unlike any other weekend...ever.".
Scent Of A Woman is a film of high critical praise and supreme intuitiveness, a colorful and intensive character study and a hilariously clever piece of entertainment. A classic of the cinematic medium, a wholeheartedly delightful, astonishingly snappy, deeply moving, thought provoking and searingly touching work of pure brilliance. Director Martin Brest (Beverly Hills Cop, Midnight Run, Meet Joe Black) has helmed a wide range of films, each with their own unique mix of concept. A deeply absorbing film thats hardhitting, cerebral, snappy and intelligent. An extravagantly crafted tour de force that hit every end of the emotional spectrum, Scent Of A Woman is the real deal, a brutally honest, highly absorbing, intensely hard hitting and endlessly spectacular drama that will leave you wanting more, much more.
Al Pacino gives THE most insanely spectacular performances of his astoundingly legendary cinematic career. This could be his absolute best performance, he owns every scene that hes in and has a powerful grip on everything going on around him. A landmark and Academy Award winning performance by a legendary and stunningly phenomenal actor. Chris O'Donnell was cast perfectly, no one in the game was better suited to play the co-starring and subtle role that this film demanded. James Rebhorn was great and Phillip Seymour Hoffman gave an excellent performance as well.
