Review of Sawako Decides (2010) by Phil N — 27 Jun 2011
With her father critically ill, Sawako reluctantly returns home after a five year exile in Tokyo to take the reigns of their freshly packed clam factory â" to the resentment of the workers. With her eco-friendly boyfriend and his daughter in tow, itâ(TM)s finally time for Sawako to make a stand for what she believes in.
At times warm and funny, at others sad and poignant, Sawako Decides is a little gem of a film that draws you in thanks to an empathetic lead and a supporting cast of characters who are fully fleshed out.
