Review of Satyricon (1969) by Jean-Sébastien C — 19 Sep 2010
Visually making up for a lack of story (but not devoid of meaning as some may say), Fellini is in top form here as a conveyor of ideas and emotions, but normally Fellini's films are more engaging and have better characters than this.
...still, this movie is even more visually arresting than most of his...some of the more ritualized actions in the deserts and what not made me wonder if Scorsese was thinking of this movie when he did Last Temptation of Christ.
