Review of Satyricon (1969) by Ron Z — 02 Jan 2019
This was for me, as I'm sure it is for many, one of those flicks linked to a time and place in one's development as a discriminating consumer of film. It's a landmark film.
At the very least, Fellini Satyricon is a trove of narrative fragment riches. The depiction of Trimalchio, alone, is well, well worth the time expended taking in this pageant. As famously fragmentary as it is, it's a paen to an eternally urgent question: Who are we? And another question: Can we live free?
