Review of Sarah's Key (2010) by Ela T — 11 Dec 2011
I always promise I will not watch movies with this theme of the Second World War. I am deeply sad, as if I had participated, even being born after. But they end up appearing in my life. This is a film about the Nazis in France, but a history that I didn't know.
The film is based on the novel by Tatiana De Rosnay and is a true episode happened in France that few people know. A sad movie, shameful moments and full of prejudice. But I will add to the theme of war which also caught my attention.
It is the story of three children: one who died, other that survived and another that wants to born. Kristin Scott Thomas as always gives an acting class. And the presence of Aidan Quinn in one of the most beautiful scenes of the film.
It is an extremely sad movie, but must be seen.
